Travel and Lodging

Many Oxford streets are closed to traffic and parking is severely limited. Visitors are encouraged to use the Park and Ride bus services. A  Park and Ride system operate from various locations on the Oxford ring road. Limited paid parking is available in Oxford City centre.

TRANSPORTATION

There are three major airports within 90 minutes of Oxford. Heathrow is the closest major airport to Oxford well served by direct coach connections to Oxford.

The City bus service is excellent. We do not recommend taxis; many Oxford streets are one-way, and taxi fares may be excessive.

ACCOMMODATION

The University of Oxford and its colleges offer comfortable bedrooms, from the contemporary to the more traditional. Oxford Colleges offer accommodation on an individual basis, providing a unique opportunity to stay in a historic Oxford college room, eat in the college hall and wander through the college's gardens. These centrally-located rooms start at £50.Check availability and book online on the Conference Oxford website or the University Rooms website. (Please note that Speedybooker will process your booking on behalf of Conference Oxford). If necessary, confirm your booking directly with the college. Rooms typically become available one to two months in advance, so please revisit the website within that period if nothing is available now.

The YHA Oxford is located beside the Oxford Train station and offers the least expensive accommodation option. Membership is not a requirement. Private rooms are available, some with ensuite bathrooms.
